Staten Island: 1 Day Visit Agenda!
Staten Island: The fifth and most forgotten borough may have some pretty valuable sights after all!
Staten Island is the third-largest borough by land mass in New York City. It’s the most forgotten. There were even rumors that Staten Island might merge with New Jersey! People forget that Staten Island is a lovely place to live: bigger houses, car-friendly roads and serene environments. If you ever find yourself in Staten Island with nothing to do, here’s a proposed itinerary for you!
10:00 AM
There are 7 ways to get to Staten Island!
Staten Island Ferry
MTA S79 Bus from Brooklyn
Express Bus from Manhattan
Verrazano Bridge
New Jersey: Bayonne Bridge
New Jersey: Goethals Bridge
New Jersey: Outerbridge Crossing

Feeling a little hungry? Head out to Hylan Blvd for some of your favorite eats, they really have everything: Popeyes, sushi, pizza, Chinese food, Indian food, and so much more. Satisfy your cravings in no time at Hylan Blvd!
1:00 PM
Take the bus to Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden in Richmond Terrace. Here you can have a little picnic, throw a frisbee, and check out the Chinese Scholar’s Garden. During holidays, they also have a lovely lights exhibit, like for Lunar New Year as well as Christmas.
4:00 PM
Hungry for a snack? Get some bubble tea on Forest Avenue. There are a couple spots here (and feel free to check out the “Bubble Tea in Staten Island” blog on the following page). Bubble tea shops sometimes also have snacks, so sitting down and enjoying some light snacks can be really fun!
5:00 PM
Head to the mall! The Staten Island Mall has shops from shops from Pandora to Apple to Macy’s. Really, no one can deny the satisfaction of some retail therapy.
7:00 PM
Return trip to Manhattan! For some sightseeing, take the St. George Ferry Terminal to Lower Manhattan. On this ride, you can see the Statue of Liberty and a beautiful view of a partial Manhattan skyline. Great way to end the night!
