Balancing Work and School Life
College is already difficult as it is. However, for some students, it is much more than just attending a four-year university. For some, it is also worrying about paying for tuition, working one or two part-time or even full-time jobs, all while excelling in all coursework. Learning how to create a balance between these two can be challenging. Here are some tips that just might give you the edge to overcome that obstacle.

Created a study workspace
Having a quiet, clean, and relaxing area to do you studies is extremely important to your coursework. This does not necessarily need to be at home, as not everyone has that luxury. Any quiet cafes, local libraries, college libraries, or even college study rooms will do.
Keep organized
Some people can plan and note everything in their head and meet every deadline just fine. However, if you are just like me, these thoughts just get jumbled up and lost with every other thought I have throughout the day. Utilize a planner. Create weekly schedules on your calendar to know deadlines and weekly tasks. Block out times each day to dedicated to work, studying, or even some downtime to relax.
Stay vigilant with your time
Treat your time and worth with respect. When you are working-time and pursuing a degree, there is not much leeway to slack off. With every shift you have, practice coming in at least 15 minutes early. With every paper, assignment, or project, take at least 5 minutes to begin writing something down. Make this a habit and the next thing you will know, you will unconsciously forget what it means to procrastinate.
Practice self-care
Not everyone can be like Elon Musk and work 80 hours a week, with no breaks. Take some time to relax and remind yourself that your physical and mental health are just as important as your coursework and job. If you stay consistent with the tips mentioned above, you will have more than enough time for yourself.
Remember the little things
Although continuously working towards your big, long-term goals is great, so will be celebrating your minor accomplishments. It is better to take it one step at a time rather than shooting your shot in the dark with one big step. Though you do not necessarily need to celebrate every single minor accomplishment, giving yourself credit once in awhile will go a long way.
Ask for advice!
Here you are looking for advice, and now you are being told to ask for advice? The most intelligent and successful individuals are those who more than often ask for help. You cannot know it all and do it all without stretching yourself too thin. If you are stuck on something or need help, ask away. It will not only help you to make the most out of your precious time, but also show that appreciate the knowledge of others and that what they know is valuable.
